As the Presidential term of Fred Jones had come to an end, Mick was proposed and agreed to stand for President. He was duly elected.

CC Bexley Reliability Trial : Sunday January 15th. 2012.

Our event was a success again this year even though there were not as many riders as in pevious years. Perhaps it was a bit too cold for many of you, but it was a fine sunny day and pleasant to be out once you had warmed up. Although it had not been raining in the previous few days the freezing conditions demanded caution where water had been laying, especially around Eynsford Ford.

Full results are not yet available, but it seems thet SEEDS have won the Alan Smith Trophy. More information will be posted as it becomes available. We must thank all riders for their support and the marshals and helpers who gave up their day in aid of the event and for charity.

We do have one negative point to add though. Our organiser received a 'phone call after the event from a lady complaining that she and her children were sworn at by some passing riders at Tandridge. We do not know the facts of course, and we do not know even if they were riders from our event, but we must remember that as club cylists we are above that sort of thing. We must keep ourselves under control in all situations and show ourselves as worthy ambassadors of the sport and passtime. We gain nothing by agression.

All profits from the event will be donated to charity, the favourites being "The Demelza House Children's Hospice" and the "Ellenor Hospice".

Roller Championships 2012.

An intra club Roller Competition will be held at the clubroom on Wednesday February 8th. 2012. All those who feel fit enough to explode for around the equivalent of 500 meters should apply. Those who....sort of glow and intermittantly splutter over such a distance will also be signed up. For the rest of you, why not come down just for the fun?

Rollers and track machines will be provided, but please bring your shoes and racing gear.

Clubnights 2011-12.

We meeting weekly on Wednesday evenings at the Horton Kirby Cricket Club. It is usually open from about 8:00pm or after our club "10" has finished. Often in the Summer the Cricket Club are playing an evening match as well but we can usually gather together at one end of the room.

During this winter the cricket club will be holding their darts competition on the following Wednesdays:-

4th. January

25th. January

1st. February

We shall have to share the clubroom with them on those evenings.

Clothing

We now have a new clothing design and we are using a different supplier. If you would like to order some more CC Bexley wear, please see Mick Morris at the club or call him on 01732 822940. Prices are subject to order timing and quantity but we will not be holding any stock. You therefore may not receive your item until we have sufficient demand to place an order.

The new vest, front and back view.

The new racing shorts.

We still have a few items in stock of the old design which we will sell at a discount. Please contact Anne Heasman if you would like any.

Middle Distance BAR Shield.

Our Shield for this Competition has gone missing. If anyone can locate it we would be grateful, so look in your lofts and junk rooms to see if it is lurking there.

Championship 12 Hour. Sunday Sept. 5th. 2010.

All congratulations to Mick Morris who not only was our only rider, but completed the event, the first "12" he has finished in 50 years, to win the Championship trophy. I will not put his finishing distance on here for fear of embarrassing him.

It is a shame, and it was probably too late after the "12" to correct it, that he did not complete a "100" in 2010 as he would have also won the BAR.

Charity Rides.

I am often asked to advertise charity rides on the website. I have decided therefore to list some of them on this page. Those that are local to our area, or that one of our members wish to support will be included in this list. I will put them in date order.

The Gravesend Section of the CTC are running a Reliability Trial from Shorne Country Park, near Cobham starting at 9:30am on Sunday 29th. January 2012. Entries are on the line and the fee will be a minimum of £2.00 donation for the Kent Air Ambulance.

A route sheet will be posted when available but in the meantime please contact Patrick McMaster pmcmaster(at)blueyonder.co.uk.

Other Events.

Other events local to our area will be listed here after the racing season starts and the Reliability trials are over.

And Finally, but Most Importantly

Welcome to our new member who have joined since our AGM in December 2009:-
